COMMISSIONS AND FIGURATIVE WORKS IN COLLECTIONS
Pastel is a painting technique with more than five centuries of history. During those five centuries, many painters chose the pastel technique to develop their art, sometimes exclusively, sometimes together with other techniques. In some countries at various times (think of the French eighteenth century) pastel was so valued that it was preferred for portraits, even over oils.
Portraits are painted from life whenever possible and are executed in soft pastel on archival panel, then framed with Museum Glass or Museum Plexi-glass, as appropriate.
